Home/Consultation
What a consultation involves
Every procedure starts with a conversation. Here is how it goes, what to bring, and how payment works.

Four steps
From the first call to follow-up.
The first call
Speak with a patient coordinator. They answer questions and book your visit.
The consultation
You and Dr. Beber discuss your goals and review your health history, including past surgeries, medications and other concerns. He explains the procedure, recovery, risks and expected outcomes.
Your plan
For surgery, a pre-operative appointment several weeks before the date finalizes the plan, provides prescriptions, completes paperwork and schedules your first follow-up.
Follow-up
Several follow-up appointments with the team monitor your healing and scar care.
Bring to your visit
Before you come.
- A list of any past surgeries
- Your current medications
- Any other health concerns
- Your goals and your questions
Paying for care
OHIP and self-pay.
OHIP may cover
Surgery that is medically necessary or reconstructive: breast reconstruction after cancer, skin cancer removal and repair, and some birth differences.
You pay yourself
Cosmetic procedures such as breast augmentation and tummy tuck. Extended health plans sometimes cover a small amount, so check with your insurer.

Common questions
Answers before you ask.
Does OHIP cover plastic surgery?
OHIP covers plastic surgery that is medically necessary or reconstructive, such as breast reconstruction after cancer. Cosmetic procedures, including breast augmentation and tummy tuck, are not covered and are paid for by the patient. Coverage for breast reduction and for skin removal after major weight loss follows strict criteria that have changed over time.
Will a tummy tuck help me lose weight?
No. It is a body contouring procedure for people who are at or near a stable weight and want to address excess skin, stubborn fat and weakened muscles.
How long do tummy tuck results last?
Results can be permanent with a stable weight. Large weight changes, future pregnancies and ageing can affect them.
Can procedures be combined?
Some can. A tummy tuck can be combined with breast surgery or liposuction, as in a mommy makeover. Dr. Beber advises whether a combination suits your health and goals.
What will my scars look like?
In a standard tummy tuck the scar sits low on the abdomen, typically within the bikini line, running hip to hip. All surgery leaves scars and most fade over time. At your consultation the team shows examples of how scars typically heal.
Is financing available?
The office works with a financing partner, Beautifi, and its financing page lists monthly payment plans.
